Dr Carol Massay began her career in construction straight from school during a time when more than three million people were unemployed. Rather than waiting for opportunity, she chose to gain practical experience as an office junior while studying in the evenings.

Sonia Robinson’s journey into the construction industry began during one of the most difficult chapters of her life. In her forties, she faced redundancy and the sudden breakdown of her relationship. With two children depending on her, she had to quickly rebuild stability. Instead of allowing circumstances to define her future, she chose to create something of her own.

Susan Cormican is a Group Director at Ethos Engineering, a company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with engineers operating throughout Europe. Ethos provides mechanical and electrical system designs for various industries, including Data Centre, Industrial and Commercial Sectors. With over three decades of experience in the construction and engineering sectors, Susan has witnessed the industry’s evolution in many ways, both personally and professionally. Her journey into engineering was not planned.
Chandos Construction
Jen Hancock, the Vice President of Collaborative Construction at Chandos Construction, has made significant strides in the construction industry over the past 17 years. Her journey into construction is unique, as it wasn’t a field she initially considered while growing up or even during her early career. Before finding her place in construction, Jen earned her degree at the University of Alberta as a teacher.
