Susanne Madsen | Susanne Madsen Int. Ltd
Susanne Madsen has built a remarkable career by helping leaders and professionals unlock their full potential through transformational coaching, leadership training, and personal growth. With a strong background in project and programme management, combined with deep expertise in leadership psychology and coaching, she has become a trusted guide for individuals working in demanding and high-pressure environments. Her journey reflects not only professional success but also a strong commitment to helping people lead with greater confidence, resilience, and authenticity. At EliteX, we are proud to have Susanne Madsen as part of the edition: Transformational Coaches to Follow, 2026.
Before becoming a full-time coach, Susanne worked in project and programme management, including roles within investment banking. Her corporate experience gave her first-hand insight into the pressure, responsibility, and complexity that many professionals face in leadership positions. While she was successful in her career, a leadership programme she attended through work became a defining moment in her life. During that programme, she experienced coaching for the first time. Instead of receiving direct advice, she was asked thoughtful questions that helped her discover her own answers. That experience changed her understanding of growth and leadership completely.

True transformation happens when people change how they think, lead, and live.
What inspired Susanne most was realising that meaningful transformation often happens from within. She understood that many highly capable professionals are not limited by a lack of technical skill, but by stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, and overwhelming pressure. This insight motivated her to study coaching alongside her corporate career. Over time, she began coaching colleagues internally and discovered that these conversations brought her far more energy and fulfilment than traditional project delivery work. Eventually, she made the decision to leave corporate life and dedicate herself fully to coaching and leadership development.
Today, Susanne specialises in helping project managers, programme managers, senior leaders, and professionals strengthen their leadership presence and personal resilience. Many of her clients are highly responsible individuals who are managing complex environments while also trying to maintain balance in their personal lives. Her work focuses on helping them strengthen confidence, communication, emotional resilience, stakeholder management, team leadership, and overall wellbeing.
One of the key aspects of Susanne’s coaching philosophy is the belief that transformational change happens from the inside out. She believes that true growth is not only about achieving goals or improving performance metrics. It is also about shifting the beliefs, habits, and behavioural patterns that influence how people think, lead, and respond to challenges. Her approach combines practical leadership coaching with psychological insight, helping clients build both awareness and sustainable behavioural change.
Stress, overwhelm, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and difficulty setting boundaries are some of the most common challenges her clients face. Many high achievers become trapped in cycles of over-responsibility, constantly pushing themselves to meet expectations while neglecting their own wellbeing. Susanne helps them recognise these patterns and develop healthier ways of leading and living. Through reflective dialogue, emotional awareness work, resilience techniques, and practical action planning, she supports clients in building stronger habits and more intentional leadership styles.
One of the most meaningful parts of Susanne’s work has been witnessing the transformation of individuals who have forgotten to prioritise themselves. She recalls working with a senior manager and mother of three who was struggling under intense pressure both at work and at home. Through coaching, the client realised that she had completely disconnected from activities that once brought her joy and emotional balance, particularly singing and playing music. By gradually learning to delegate, trust others, and create space for self-care, the client became calmer, more balanced, and more effective as both a leader and a parent. Experiences like these continue to reinforce Susanne’s belief that sustainable leadership requires energy, boundaries, and self-respect.
Sustainable success comes from balancing performance with personal wellbeing.
Susanne’s coaching style is often described as calm, practical, insightful, and thought-provoking. Her extensive corporate background allows her to deeply understand the realities of modern leadership, while her coaching expertise enables her to guide clients toward lasting personal transformation. She believes that awareness, ownership, and intentional action are essential foundations for meaningful change. Rather than simply offering solutions, she empowers individuals to think differently, reconnect with their strengths, and take responsibility for creating healthier and more sustainable success.
In addition to coaching, Susanne is passionate about leadership psychology, continuous learning, and human development. She regularly expands her knowledge through training, reading, reflection, and ongoing work with clients. She is also the author of The Power of Project Leadership, now in its second edition, and How to Do the Inner Work, both of which reflect her focus on leadership, self-awareness, and transformational growth. For her, coaching is not only a profession but also a lifelong commitment to growth and self-awareness.

Looking ahead, Susanne believes the future of leadership will place even greater importance on emotional intelligence, resilience, adaptability, and authentic human connection. As workplaces become increasingly complex and technology continues to automate technical tasks, she sees coaching-based leadership becoming essential for sustainable performance and healthy organisational cultures. She is passionate about helping redefine what strong leadership looks like in the modern world.
Through coaching, speaking, writing, and leadership programmes, Susanne Madsen continues to inspire professionals to lead with clarity, confidence, and authenticity. Her work serves as a reminder that true leadership is not about constant pressure or perfection. It is about creating success in a way that supports both performance and wellbeing, allowing people to thrive personally as well as professionally.
Strong leadership begins with self-awareness, resilience, and the courage to grow.
