Rhonda Shear’s professional journey is a strong example of reinvention, courage, and purpose. Before becoming a successful businesswoman, she built a career in Hollywood as an actress, host, and stand-up comedian. She became widely known as the hostess of USA Up All Night, where she learned the power of presentation, confidence, and the right wardrobe.

During her years in entertainment, she understood how important foundations and intimate apparel were in helping women feel comfortable and confident in their own bodies. This experience later became the base of her business journey. At EliteX, we are proud to have Rhonda Shear as part of the edition: Prominent Women in Business, 2026.
Rhonda also had her own personal struggles with finding intimates that truly fit and flattered her curvy and changing body. Instead of seeing this as only a personal problem, she saw it as a larger issue faced by many women. This inspired her to create Rhonda Shear Intimates, a brand designed by a woman, for women. Today, her inclusive and award-winning brand is loved by millions of women around the world. It is available through shopping channels, online retailers, and select boutiques, and continues to grow with a clear focus on comfort, beauty, and empowerment.
A true brand lifts people while it grows.
Her entry into business came at a turning point in her life. In Hollywood, opportunities often became fewer for women as they grew older, especially in their 40s. Around the same time, Rhonda reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Van, after 26 years apart. Together, they decided to start something completely new. She had always been connected to sales in different ways, but this was her chance to build a brand from the ground up. With Van’s support and her own strong vision, she stepped into the business world with energy and determination.
Like many women in business, Rhonda faced several challenges. She had to work with bankers, factories, pricing, timelines, and product development. She also had to overcome the public image people had of her as a fun and playful television personality. Many saw her only as the face of a brand, but Rhonda worked hard to prove that she was much more than that. She became deeply involved in design and product development, especially in creating items she wished had existed for women like her. Her work became even more meaningful because women’s intimates had long been designed and distributed mainly by men. Rhonda helped change that by building a brand around real women’s needs.
One of her biggest achievements has not only been business success, but the ability to give back to women. Awards and recognition are important, but for Rhonda, the most meaningful moments come when women thank her for creating products that make them feel comfortable, supported, and dignified. She is especially proud of styles that help women who wear prostheses. Her pocket bra designs offer gentle support, reduce irritation, and help women feel more confident in their daily lives. This emotional connection with customers has become one of the strongest parts of her legacy.
A major turning point in Rhonda’s leadership journey was the launch of the Ahh Bra as an infomercial. It was a risk, but it became a huge success. The Ahh Bra went on to sell 40 million pieces worldwide across 34 countries. It also influenced the entire intimate apparel industry, as many brands later created similar comfort-focused styles. The success of the Ahh Bra proved that women wanted comfort without giving up style. It brought more attention to the Rhonda Shear brand and allowed her to grow her team, expand her product range, and strengthen her position as an industry leader.
Success begins when women stop waiting for permission.

Rhonda believes that women in business today must be creative, confident, and willing to do things differently. Her own team is made up mostly of women, which is important to her because the brand serves women directly. She values real feedback from customers and uses it to shape her products. Her line is designed for women of different shapes, sizes, ages, and skin tones. With sizes from XS to 3X, multiple neutral shade options, and different support levels, the brand reflects her commitment to inclusion.
As a leader, Rhonda balances risk-taking with responsibility. She works closely with her team, studies opportunities, and makes informed decisions while still allowing room for bold ideas. She understands that business is always changing, especially with the rise of AI, social media, streaming sales, and new technology. Still, her greatest inspiration remains the women who wear her products. Their needs guide her designs and keep her brand relevant.
Rhonda’s life is also full beyond business. She recently wrote a book, opened Shear Media Studios, launched The Up All Night Network on Roku, returned to acting, and began producing her own shows and podcasts. She enjoys discovering new restaurants, traveling, attending conventions, and spending time with her four rescue chihuahuas. Even with many responsibilities, she continues to move forward with passion.
Rhonda Shear’s journey shows that success can come from reinvention, resilience, and the courage to follow one’s own path. She hopes to inspire women to build their own dream brands and to be remembered as someone who lifted other women up. Her story is not only about intimate apparel, but about confidence, dignity, and creating space for women to feel seen, supported, and powerful.

Comfort is not a luxury – it is confidence made visible.
