Sophia Casey, MCC – Leading With Clarity, Courage, and Sustainable Impact

Sophia Casey

Sophia Casey is a Master Certified Coach, a global award-winning speaker, and the Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer of ICLI RISING, an International Coaching Federation accredited global coach training school. With more than twenty years of experience in coaching and leadership development, she has built a career centered on helping people lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

She has been recognized as the Best Americas Coach and named a USA Today Top Transformational Coach and Top Executive Coach. Over the years, she has led training and human resources organizations serving more than one hundred thousand professionals and has also held the role of Director of First Impressions for a former Vice President of the United States. Her work today focuses on supporting executive teams through meaningful and large-scale organizational change. At EliteX, we are proud to have Sophia Casey as part of the edition: Transformational Female Coaches to Follow, 2026.

Her journey into coaching began when she witnessed how deeply coaching could shift how people saw themselves and what they believed was possible. While working in leadership roles across both public and private sector organizations, she realized that her greatest sense of fulfillment came from developing people rather than managing processes. She observed capable leaders feeling stuck in habits and beliefs that limited their impact, even when they had strong skills and experience. Coaching became her calling because it allowed her to meet people where they were and support them in creating personal and professional freedom on their own terms.

True transformation begins when leaders trust their inner authority and lead authentically.

Sophia’s masterful coaching style blends energy, accountability, and empathy, holding space for her clients to boldly claim their most aligned, joy-filled life. She brings a high level of presence and honesty to her work, while creating partnerships that balance reflection with action. Her approach is rooted in the PARTNER Coaching Framework used in her executive practice and at ICLI RISING, with a strong focus on presence, clarity, and client ownership. She is known for asking thoughtful and challenging questions, holding space for vulnerability, and offering direct truth in ways that feel supportive and psychologically safe. Her work respects each client’s autonomy and inner wisdom.

She primarily works with senior executives, leadership teams, and experienced coaches. Her client base includes Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and emerging leaders around the world. A central part of her mission is increasing the number of Black credentialed coaches globally. Through mentoring and training, she has supported thousands of coaches as they pursued International Coaching Federation credentials and built sustainable practices.

The challenges Sophia sees most often are not about skill or intelligence, but about the invisible weight of leadership. Many leaders today are navigating constant change, global teams, and hybrid work environments while being expected to perform at high levels without slowing down. Burnout, decision fatigue, and emotional exhaustion are common. At a deeper level, leaders often struggle with imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and the pressure to always have answers. For Black women leaders, these challenges are often intensified by code switching, hypervisibility, and the emotional strain of being the only one in senior spaces. Over time, this weight can lead to self-doubt and disconnection from purpose.

Leadership becomes lighter when clarity replaces perfection and presence replaces pressure.

Her work helps leaders release this weight and reconnect with how they want to lead. She supports clients through a three-part approach focused on leadership, ownership, and accountability. She creates spaces where leaders can reflect honestly, question old patterns, and shift perspectives. She encourages rest as a productive practice, helps clients understand the roots of procrastination, and builds resilience through self-awareness. A key part of her method involves identifying internal saboteurs and transforming them into supportive inner voices. Many clients describe the result as becoming clearer, more connected, and more courageous.

One of her proudest achievements is that every coach she has mentored who applied for International Coaching Federation credentials has successfully earned them. Beyond numbers, she has witnessed deep personal and professional transformations. Leadership teams that once felt fractured have become aligned and unified. Coaches have found their authentic voice and built thriving practices. Executives have moved from overwhelm to grounded and intentional leadership.

What sets Sophia apart is her anointed ability to meet executives and established coaches exactly where they are, knowing when to challenge and when to deeply listen. As one of a small percentage of coaches worldwide holding the Master Certified Coach credential, she brings depth and rigor to every engagement. She is also the author of eight books, including multiple Amazon number one new releases, and draws on this broad knowledge to support leaders across industries. She believes leadership does not have to be heavy to be effective and that joy is a powerful source of resilience.

Success in her work is measured by transformation rather than transactions. She looks for lasting changes in how clients show up, make decisions, and align their values with their actions. Looking ahead, her goals include expanding the reach of ICLI RISING, continuing to grow the number of Black credentialed coaches, and addressing emerging leadership challenges in an AI-integrated world. Her message to readers is clear and encouraging. A full and authentic life is possible, rest is productive, and leadership rooted in truth and joy has the power to change lives.

Rest and self-awareness are foundations of resilient, effective leadership.
