Rooted in Purpose: How Jordyn Harman Is Redefining Beauty and Wellness

Jordyn Harman’s journey into the world of aesthetics and cosmetics began in 2019, while she was working full-time in Family Medicine. She took a continuing medical education course on Botox and filler with a friend from nurse practitioner school. The experience turned out to be more than just educational—it awakened something in her. The instructor saw a natural talent in Jordyn, telling her she had an “aesthetic eye” and was skilled at injecting from the start. Although she initially planned to do it on the side to help pay off student loans, Jordyn invested in six more trainings to master her skills. What began as a hobby quickly turned into something far greater—a passion, a purpose, and eventually, a full-fledged career. At EliteX, we are proud to have Jordyn Harman as part of the edition: Prominent Women in Aesthetics and Cosmetics, 2025.

Interestingly, Jordyn doesn’t feel like she chose this profession. Instead, she believes the field chose her. She kept going because she became deeply committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and natural results to her patients. Over time, what started as an experiment evolved into a calling. Her deep passion for patient care and authenticity helped lay the foundation for her success.

“These are human beings, not dollar signs. My job is to care for them with integrity, compassion, and excellence.”

Jordyn’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a respected name in aesthetics is nothing short of inspiring. She started out working in a single room inside her mother’s cosmetology salon. From there, she grew into a 1,500-square-foot building with four treatment rooms. Now, she is preparing to break ground on a massive 6,000-square-foot facility with ten treatment rooms. The scale of growth has surpassed even her own expectations. She reflects with gratitude and amazement at how far her dream has come.

A typical day in Jordyn’s life is a busy one, but she embraces it fully. Her day begins around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning with a routine of exercise, time on a vibration plate, and a session in the infrared sauna with red light therapy—practices she recommends to her clients as well. After getting her three young children, aged four, twenty months, and five months, to daycare and school, she heads into work. Her workday begins at 9:00 a.m., where she sees around 13 to 18 patients a day for various services, including injectables, laser treatments, wellness support, and lab work. Her days usually end between 5 and 7 p.m. After that, it’s time for her family again—feeding, bathing, and putting the kids to bed. If she missed her morning workout, she fits it in before winding down with her husband and preparing for another full day ahead.

Throughout her journey, Jordyn has been fortunate to have the support of mentors and friends. One of her biggest influences has been Amanda Kurtz, a long-time professional in the aesthetics industry. Amanda encouraged Jordyn to take the leap and start her business, offering valuable mentorship and friendship along the way. Her belief in Jordyn gave her the confidence she needed to push forward.

“Beauty is not just appearance. It’s also how you feel and how you treat people.”

As a young female entrepreneur, Jordyn has encountered her share of challenges. Being taken seriously in a male-dominated world—or even being respected for working in the aesthetic field—hasn’t always been easy. At times, people didn’t understand or appreciate what she was building. Early in her career, such skepticism used to bother her. But today, she focuses solely on her goals: her family, her business, and her patients. Over time, she has earned respect and built credibility through consistent growth and the trust of nearly 1,500 patients. The support and positive feedback she receives from them prove that her approach works—and that it matters.

Jordyn’s personal and professional definition of beauty is deeply thoughtful. She believes beauty is not just about outward appearance, but also about how people feel and how they treat others. In her view, every individual is beautiful in their own unique way, even if they can’t always see it themselves. At her clinic, Med Spa Express, the focus is on treating patients holistically—helping them feel just as good on the inside as they look on the outside.

In terms of trends, Jordyn is particularly excited about the rise of regenerative and longevity medicine. She sees a clear shift happening in the industry—toward biostimulators, wellness, and whole-health approaches that go beyond surface-level treatments. This direction not only aligns with her professional philosophy but also represents the future of aesthetics as she sees it. Staying up to date with trends without losing her core values is something Jordyn takes very seriously. At Med Spa Express, treatments are never introduced simply because they are trendy. She makes it a point to only offer services that are effective, science-backed, and meaningful. She sees through the smoke and mirrors that can sometimes cloud the aesthetic world and is committed to offering only the best, most responsible care. When it comes to skincare advice, Jordyn is clear and firm on one point: SPF every day, no matter what. Sun protection is one of the simplest yet most powerful things a person can do for their skin, and she swears by it as a daily essential.

“I don’t feel like I chose this profession—I truly believe the field chose me.”

There are also common myths Jordyn wishes to correct about her field. Aesthetics isn’t about vanity, she says. In fact, natural results are far more common than people think. Unfortunately, the “botched” cases often seen online are typically the result of untrained or unethical providers. Jordyn is proud to run a practice where patients are treated with care, skill, and respect—something she believes should be the standard everywhere.

Looking ahead, Jordyn sees the aesthetics industry continuing to evolve toward more wellness-based and toxin-free approaches. She predicts a future where health and natural enhancement take priority over artificial beauty. She’s excited to be part of that evolution and to help lead the way for others.

For young women looking to enter the aesthetics field, Jordyn offers real and honest advice. It is absolutely possible, she says—but only if you’re willing to work hard. It took her six years to grow from zero patients to nearly 1,500. The path hasn’t been easy, and it’s required sacrifices—missed events, long days, and total dedication. But in the end, she believes it’s all worth it for those who are truly passionate and committed.

One of the proudest moments in Jordyn’s career came in 2022 when she became the only provider in Iowa selected to train with the prestigious Inner Circle in Switzerland. Being invited to speak and train for various companies has also been a huge honor. But the everyday wins matter just as much to her—like receiving heartfelt reviews from patients who leave her office feeling seen, understood, and empowered. Those small moments reaffirm her mission and bring immense joy.

For Jordyn, being recognized as a prominent woman in the aesthetics and cosmetics industry means more than just professional success. It comes with a responsibility to educate both patients and other providers about the right way to practice. She firmly believes in doing what is ethical and moral. Her guiding principle is clear: these are human beings, not dollar signs. Her job is to care for them with integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Jordyn Harman’s story is one of vision, resilience, and unwavering dedication. From a single room in her mother’s salon to leading one of the most respected med spas in Iowa, she has built a career rooted in purpose and passion. Her journey is a reminder that success comes not just from skill, but from heart—and that when you lead with both, the possibilities are limitless.
