Lade’s first foray into the construction world was as a Resident Engineer at Setraco Nigeria Limited. In this entry-level position, she gained invaluable hands-on experience in various aspects of project development. Her responsibilities included overseeing CAD design, concrete works, and road construction management. This role taught her the importance of meticulous planning, stakeholder management, and adaptability. The skills she developed in this position laid a strong foundation for her future work, particularly in sustainable and innovative construction practices. Since the beginning of her career, the construction industry has undergone significant changes. One of the most notable shifts has been the growing emphasis on sustainability. There is now a heightened demand for eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient designs, and reduced environmental impact. Technological advancements, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and drone technology, have also revolutionized project management. These innovations have improved efficiency, collaboration, safety, and accuracy in the industry.
