From E-Commerce to Insurtech: Harprem Doowa’s Bold New Chapter

Harprem Doowa’s journey into insurtech began after a decade of entrepreneurial experience. In 2012, he launched his first company in the e-commerce space. Through mergers and acquisitions, he gained valuable insights into building and scaling tech businesses. Eventually, he left the e-commerce world behind to co-found Frank.co.th in 2016, a fully digital insurance brokerage in Thailand. Frank quickly made its mark and was acquired by Bolttech in 2020, where Harprem then served as Chief Disruption Officer. During his time in the insurance space, he noticed a gap that others had overlooked-while many startups were focusing on selling insurance policies directly, very few were creating the tools needed to power these sales.

This realization inspired him to start Eazy Digital in 2022, a company focused on digitizing insurance agency distribution. At EliteX, we are proud to have Harprem Doowa as part of the edition: 05 Impactful Insurtech Leaders in 2025. What sparked the idea for Eazy Digital was a deeper understanding of how digital transformation had evolved in other industries, like e-commerce. Just as platforms emerged to support online sellers, Harprem saw the potential to empower insurance agents with technology. His idea was clear: instead of competing with agents, why not build the tools to help them thrive? Eazy Digital was created to do just that-“sell the shovels” in the insurance gold rush. By offering software that makes insurance sales easier, faster, and smarter, the company is changing the way insurance is distributed.

Eazy Digital addresses a major problem in the insurance industry. Most insurance companies have thousands of agents, but these agents often work without proper digital tools. This creates inefficiencies, lack of data visibility, and outdated incentive models. Harprem and his team designed a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that improves agent management and supports better sales processes. Their platform helps agents onboard customers faster, track their performance, and even earn rewards through gamification. It’s not about replacing the human touch-it’s about making it more effective.

“We’re not here to disrupt the core-we’re here to enhance it with real-world, practical innovation.”

Unlike traditional insurance models that rely heavily on manual processes and paperwork, Eazy Digital brings speed, transparency, and digital accessibility. Their modular, low-code platform integrates easily with existing insurance systems. It includes dashboards, onboarding features, training programs, and even customer-facing tools. It can be deployed in as little as six to eight weeks, without the need to overhaul a company’s entire tech setup. This makes digital transformation faster, less costly, and more practical for insurers of all sizes.

Technology is also transforming the experience for end users. With Eazy Digital, customers get faster quotes, easier policy access, and a better understanding of their insurance. The platform allows agents to serve clients more effectively while giving policyholders tools to manage their own policies online. This dual benefit has the potential to improve customer satisfaction and trust in the insurance system.

Of course, building an insurtech startup came with its challenges. One of the toughest hurdles was navigating the long sales cycles that come with working in enterprise insurance. Harprem’s team realized they needed to be more flexible in their approach. By breaking down their product into smaller, modular components, they were able to close deals more quickly and increase revenue. This strategy opened the door to working with both large insurers and smaller brokers.

One of Harprem’s proudest milestones came when Eazy Digital partnered with Tokio Marine. The platform successfully onboarded over 10,000 agents and brought 8 million policies online, with a total value of $400 million USD. More importantly, the company started earning recurring SaaS revenue-a major step toward long-term sustainability and growth. Their achievements have gained attention from other major players, with clients like AXA and Deloitte now quoting their product at significantly higher values.

Looking ahead, Harprem believes that insurtech will reshape how people view and experience insurance. He sees a future where insurance is more personal, digital, and inclusive. Agents will become digital advisors, using tools like AI and gamification to serve customers better. Eazy Digital is already moving in this direction, working on AI modules to help agents generate leads, provide training, and automate repetitive tasks. But Harprem is clear-AI will not replace agents. It will enhance them, allowing them to build stronger relationships with clients.

“If you need to convince people there is a problem, you’re probably solving the wrong one.”

Inclusivity is another key goal for the company. By lowering the cost of agent operations, insurers can reduce premiums and reach new markets. The platform’s gamified features also boost agent engagement, helping insurers connect with communities that are often overlooked. At the same time, Eazy Digital prioritizes security and data protection. With ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications, they ensure customer trust is never compromised.

Collaboration is at the heart of Eazy Digital’s success. The platform works alongside traditional insurance systems and follows regulatory requirements. Harprem believes true innovation happens not by replacing old systems, but by enhancing them. This mindset has helped Eazy Digital build strong partnerships with established companies.

“Instead of replacing insurance agents, we’re empowering them with the tools to thrive in a digital world.”

For new entrepreneurs entering the insurtech space, Harprem’s advice is simple: focus on real problems. If people don’t recognize the issue you’re solving, you may be working on the wrong thing. Build quickly, test often, and always think about how your product will work in the real world-not just on paper.

As for the future, 2025 looks exciting. Eazy Digital is launching with FWD and Thai Life, exploring expansion into Africa and the Middle East, and developing a marketplace model for third-party tools. With a clear vision and a growing client base, Harprem Doowa and his team are redefining the future of insurance-one agent at a time.
