Dr. Jennifer Gormer | President and CEO | Integrity Home Lending
What began as a career centered on helping individual families buy homes has grown into a broader mission focused on equity, education, ethical lending, and industry leadership. She believes that fair access to homeownership strengthens education, builds wealth, and creates long-term community stability. At EliteX, we are proud to have ABC as part of the edition: Prominent Women Leaders in Mortgage Industry, 2026.
Her entry into the mortgage industry was unexpected. As a young homeowner in her early twenties, her loan officer encouraged her to consider a career in mortgage lending. At first, she resisted the idea, but eventually decided to give it a chance. Drawing on her background in learning and development, she leaned into understanding the business deeply. A defining early moment came when she helped a borrower who had been denied repeatedly, not due to lack of income or discipline, but because no one had taken the time to explain the process. Guiding that borrower to a successful closing showed her how powerful education and ethical guidance could be. From that point forward, her work became about service at one of the most important financial moments in a person’s life.
Leadership means serving people, not just managing processes.

Over the years, her role evolved steadily. She moved from loan originator to broker at a young age, then into senior consulting and executive roles within some of the largest banks and financial institutions. She later led large national and global sales and sales enablement organizations. Each transition expanded her responsibility, from closing individual loans to building teams, and eventually to influencing systems that impact both consumers and professionals across the country. A major turning point came in 2023 with the launch of Integrity Home Lending, followed by the founding of the Black Mortgage Professional Alliance in 2024. Through this platform, she has supported hundreds of professionals nationwide through education, advocacy, and strategic partnerships. Her national visibility grew further through policy and advocacy work, including serving on advisory councils and speaking on major industry stages.
As a woman leader, and particularly as a woman of color, Dr. Gormer has faced the challenge of having to prove credibility repeatedly in spaces where women are still underrepresented at the executive and policy levels. She addressed these challenges through preparation, consistency, and results. Rather than focusing on volume or recognition, she focused on reliability, integrity, and informed decision-making. Over time, her steady approach allowed her work to speak for itself and helped build lasting trust.
She sees the mortgage industry continuing to change through technology, transparency, and evolving customer expectations. Digital tools, artificial intelligence, and expanded credit models are improving efficiency, but she believes technology must support human connection rather than replace it. Borrowers still need clarity, education, and ethical guidance. At Integrity Home Lending and through industry partnerships, she emphasizes responsible lending supported by thoughtful innovation.
Her leadership philosophy centers on integrity, adaptability, and discernment. During volatile market periods and regulatory changes, she has chosen to slow down, educate her team, and communicate openly with clients. This approach has protected trust and strengthened long-term relationships. She believes strong leadership today requires calm, clarity, and consistency, especially when uncertainty is high.

Education and integrity are the foundation of sustainable homeownership.
Creating a positive work culture is a priority in her organization. She believes clarity builds confidence, so her teams operate with clear expectations, ongoing training, and open communication. Through mentorship, regular check-ins, and collaborative problem-solving, she has created an environment where accountability and support exist together. When people feel valued and prepared, performance and retention improve naturally.
One of the most meaningful achievements in her career has been building the Black Mortgage Professional Alliance into a national platform for education, advocacy, and policy engagement. This work challenged her to think beyond individual success and focus on collective impact and long-term change. Her advocacy efforts have included direct engagement with policymakers to address the homeownership gap and promote solutions that protect consumers from predatory practices.

Dr. Gormer believes the industry must create intentional pathways to bring more women into leadership, including mentorship, sponsorship, and access to decision-making roles. She advises young women entering the mortgage field to learn the business deeply, stay teachable, protect their integrity, and seek strong mentors. Her own decision-making process is grounded in preparation, values, faith, and thoughtful analysis. Looking ahead, her vision is for a mortgage industry built on transparency, education, and equity, where sustainable homeownership is accessible to more families and leadership reflects both excellence and service.
